At Munoz Elementary, the goal of our counseling department is to promote the academic success, personal development, and overall well-being of all students. This includes providing individual and group counseling, supporting students’ social and emotional growth, assisting with academic and career planning and collaborating with parents, teachers and administrators to create a safe and supportive learning environment for all students.

Hello, my name is Melissa Montalvo. I am one of the school counselors at Munoz Elementary. I have been in the field of education for 21 years. I love working with students. As a counselor I am able to help them understand their feelings and teach them how to become problem solvers as well as how to make responsible choices.
